Intel Atom and Low Power Usage

In addition, low Thermal Design Power (TDP)—from 8.5W to 32W—drives high-density, low-power use device architecture, and "fanless" designs. Effectively operating in temps ranging from -40°C to +85°Callows for a variety of devices that perform Edge computing in many different environments.
Low-power doesn’t mean low-performance, of course. With up to 20 configurable high-speed input/output lanes and pin-to-pin compatibility, The Atom C3000 (SoC) family delivers next-generation, multicore performance, and scalability for years to come.
Data Security
Data security features are a must in all modern solutions. Inherent to edge solutions, processing and analyzing data closer to the source with minimal transport minimizes threat vectors. What the Atom C3000 does offer is integrated QAT, providing enhanced transport and protection of data across server, storage, and networking while also delivering acceleration for compression and cryptography workloads.
The Intel Atom processor C3000 series also supports Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS) features. These include error-correcting code (ECC) memory and platform-level error management and resilience. Also, built-in hardware virtualization with Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) enhances security and extends network functions virtualization (NFV) to the Edge.
